Glasgow's Miles Better! .....so says their advertising slogan of the 90s. My home town.  Former garden city and former city of culture.  I liked to think that I grew up there in a time of the city's renaissance.  In truth though, the city has constantly been developing, redeveloping and reinventing itself.  If I've captured just a fraction of the vibrancy of this city in my photographs then I'll be pleased.
"Why, Sir, you find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No, Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford."  This quote from Samuel Johnson says it all.  I moved to London in 1990 with the intention of staying about a year and then ended up spending over 8 years living there - though even since then, work and leisure keep drawing me back.  But my images don't do it justice.  Hopefully they will improve with each visit!
Moving from London to Edinburgh was very much an unknown to me - although I'm Scottish, people from Glasgow and the West of Scotland didn't tend to venture to the "far east" that often!  But, living in Edinburgh city centre for 5 years and working there for longer opened my eyes to what a beautiful city we have in Scotland as our capital.  Hopefully my images highlight for others the beauty of the landscape and architecture.
