For me, photography was a largely unexplored passion for many years. As a kid I used to take "arty" snaps with my Kodak Instamatic and place the developed prints in photo albums and write pretentious titles for each.
My working life, though, took me initially from banking down a more creative route. This change of direction not only allowed me to explore my own personal creativity but also gave me the opportunity to work with some great professional photographers. They quite simply inspired me to take my photography seriously - or at least as serious as my talent would allow!
I primarily shoot on Canon digital but occasionally I will use my iPhone. Also, as part of the "re-learning of the art form", I occasionally still use film.
I currently live in Livingston, central Scotland with my two boys (they're young adults really rather than boys) and have been here for 15 years. I am though a born and bred Glaswegian who has lived in London (for 8 years) and Edinburgh (for 5 years). Thus the concentration of the location photography relates to those cities.
